The conference is aimed at solving the problems of developing a competitive, sustainable, structurally balanced industry of chemical current sources, capable of effective self-development through integration into the global technological environment as well as the development and application of advanced technologies that ensure increased productivity, formation and development of new markets.

Events in various formats are held annually at the conference venue: plenary meetings, thematic and strategic sessions, round tables, business dialogues, B2B meetings. The subject area of the business program touches upon the most pressing issues of the industry: prospects for the development of autonomous current sources, fundamental research and production innovations, problems and solutions for the recycling of used batteries, staffing of enterprises in the industry, marketing of battery products.

Together with my EUROBAT colleague, Executive-Director Rene Schroeder, it was my pleasure to present at the 3rd edition of the annual “Battery Innovation” conference. The Akom Group is a very valuable and long-serving member of EUROBAT and we were honoured being able to support this important event for the second year in a row. With more than 110 participants from 14 countries, this conference is clearly gaining momentum internationally and expanding beyond the Russian borders.
While Mr Schroeder presented the “EUROBAT Battery Innovation Roadmap 2030”, clearly showing growth potential in the next decade amongst all battery chemistries, I provided some insights on the new EU battery legislative framework. My focus point was the recently announced “Batteries Regulation”, driving the EU battery industry for the next 15 years and which will also impact foreign producers doing business in Europe.

From the very beginning, our Cluster supported and participated in the Battery Innovation conference, contributing to its growth and promotion, including among the automotive industry. The event is an effective communication platform for professional discussion of topical issues, tasks and prospects for the development of the chemical power sources industry.
It is worth noting that in Russia this is the only specialized conference and platform with a focus on innovation. This is the place where we work together to consolidate the industry on a number of important and relevant issues. Over time, we hope that an exhibition part will also be organized, where participants will be able to demonstrate their new developments.
This year, Battery Innovation was held in an online format. Within the framework of the program, the participants discussed the issues of improving the quality of products, import substitution, localization of production, increasing competitiveness, and many others. We see that ACOM, which is a member of our Cluster, as the organizer of the event and as an industry leader, is ready not only to develop, but also to share the accumulated experience and knowledge with other companies in the industry. I am sure that the initiatives developed during the conference will contribute to improving the competitiveness of Russian products.
